Traditional Pole Marquee

Traditional Pole Marquees provide an elegant wedding or party venue on soft, level ground. This Marquee is perfect for clients who wish to extend their existing stock or require traditional styling. With a ridge pole between King Poles, this marquee has a straight ridge line. Wall Poles are spaced at 1m centres. Roof valances are offered in a number of different shapes, with the option of coloured bindings.

Strong and Durable Designed to withstand 80mph wind loading (3 sec gusts). High strength design at all tension points improves performance and structure’s life.
Modular design The roof sheets are made in sections and laced together, with storm flaps. This gives flexibility in constructing smaller or larger marquees, as the event dictates. Reduces initial investment, with additional sections purchased as demand grows.
We offer both ‘push up’ and ‘pull up’ construction methods.
Reduced storage and transportation Compared to Aluminium Frame Marquees.

Traditional Pole Marquees are available in:

Small Tents - 3.5m, or 4.5m span.
Event Tents - 6m, 9m or 12m span. With optional middle sections of 3m, 4.5 or 6m

Apex Height

The apex height of the Marquee is governed by the King Pole used (4” straight or 4.5” octagonal) Alternative poles available on request. This varies depending on span:

6m span using a King Pole which is 14' 6"
9m span using a King Pole which is 21'
12m span using a King Pole which is 23'

Eave Height

Eave Height is governed by 7' x 1 3/4" diameter high Walls Poles.

Shape

This marquee is available in square or round ended options.

Roof Valance Style

Choices Choice of roof valance shape and binding colour for Tensioned, Traditional and Big Top Pole Marquees; Straight, Castellated, Scalloped, mediaeval, Bottle and Victorian.

Poles

Ridge Poles between the King Pole give a straight ridge line.
King Poles vary in length depending on span; maximum length is 7m (23’). King and Ridge Poles can be sleeved if required to reduce length for transportation purposes.
King Pole are 4” straight or 4.5” octagonal. Alternative poles available on request.

Wind loading

Maximum allowed wind speed is: · 36 m/s (80 mph), 3 sec gust – when side walls are installed · Low speeds when installed without (or partial) side walls Marquee must be anchored in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and is subject to ground conditions.

Fabric Specification

Our Pole Marquees are available in natural materials such as Polycotton Canvas, or man made fabrics such as ‘smooth’ or ‘textured’ PVC. ‘Textured’ PVC is popular as it looks like canvas but is easier to maintain. Polycotton Canvas is stronger and lighter than traditional canvas as well as being rot and waterproofed to UK and European standards. All fabrics are Fire Retardant, UV stabilised & anti fungal.

We offer Traditional Pole Marquees in either PVC or Polycotton Canvas:

Smooth PVC – Dicksons, 650 gsm, or nearest equivalent
Textured PVC – STAM 6002, 630 gsm or nearest equivalent)
Polycotton Canvas– 407 gsm, or nearest equivalent specification sheets can be supplied for each material.

Fire Retardancy - All fabrics used comply to BS 7837:1996, DIN 4102-B1
